Prague is not only Frankfurt’s sister city, but also a metropolis of world literature that continues to be home to interesting and inspiring writers. Reason enough to dedicate a “Prague Evening” to this city, featuring the poet, prose writer, and essayist Petr Borkovec; the author and translator Tereza Semotamová; and the Frankfurt-based poet and sound poet Dirk Hülstrunk.

Peter Borkovec directed the Prague literary café Fra from 2005 to 2023. He is a regular contributor to the cultural magazine *Listy* and teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts. This fall, Edition Korrespondenzen will publish his collection of short stories, *Cécile and Others*. Tereza Semotamová was shortlisted for the Magnesia Litera, the most prestigious Czech literary prize, for her debut novel *In the Closet*; she works for the German-Czech platform jádu and will publish her new novel, *Radical Needs*, in early October. At the center of the novel is Hana, a sculptor who divides her time between Prague’s intellectual scene and a Moravian village. Dirk Hülstrunk is a Frankfurt-based poet and sound artist, host, and translator; he was in the Czech capital as recently as this spring as a resident poet as part of Prague’s UNESCO City of Literature program and had the opportunity to stay at the Kafka House.
