I am delighted to present a solo loop poetry performance with material from my new book “When repetition stops you are dead.” The performance will take place during the midissage of the exhibition “Buchstabenbilder und Plakate” (Letter Pictures and Posters) by the legendary artist and printmaker Klaus Münchschwander. The exhibition is almost a showcase of Münchschwander’s life’s work and is definitely worth seeing.
In a live performance, Frankfurt sound poet Dirk Hülstrunk mixes sounds, word loops, speech fragments, and rhythms. The result is an audio collage that straddles the boundary between text and music. The program consistently explores the limits of what can be said and heard, moving in a wide space between sound poetry and spoken word, between language, sound, and noise, incantation and music, improvisation and composition. The creation of live loops and motion-controlled electronic effects results in a spontaneous and hybrid mix between the human voice and technology.
