When repetition stops you are dead – Book launch, live loop poetry, video & electronics. “When repetition stops you are dead” brings together the “loop poems” that interdisciplinary author and sound artist Dirk Hülstrunk has developed for live performances with a loop station and presented internationally on numerous occasions in book form, bilingual and supplemented by a documentary film. The book also includes a personal audio guide by Chilean conceptual artist and literary scholar Felipe Cussen and an in-depth interview about loop poetry with journalist Martyn Schmidt.
On stage, a multi-layered mix of text, sound, and musical elements emerges, condensing into short sound-poetic radio plays.
The special guest is Josef Bercek’s versatile electronic project Ol Brentt, known for its unusual mix of electro-acoustic, ambient, dub, and sound collage. Bercek is, among other things, the head of the legendary band “House Williams” and the electro band “Das Öl Brennt Trio.”
